Portraits

I never much believed in capturing the essence of a person in a single still photograph. I’m not sure you can do it in motion pictures or paintings or drawings or sculptures either. I do believe that you can capture a facet of a person in any one of these media and that’s what we connect with when it is clearly articulated. It is something we recognize as part of being human. A shared trait rather than a unique spirit. We meet ourselves in the other.

These are some of the people that I’ve met along the journey. Most were close friends or lovers. Some were casual acquaintances. And some were total strangers and remained so.
